Fall is coming and I thought we could start putting some of our favorite recipes in(for those of you that still cook)

Sausage-Bean Chowder

2 lbs. bulk pork sausage

2 28oz. cans tomatoes undrained,broken up

1 cup water

2 large onions,chopped

2-3 cloves garlic,minced

1 bay leaf

1 1/2 tsp. thyme

1 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt

1/8 tsp ground pepper

1 cup diced potato

3 1-LB. cans kidney beans undrained

1/2 green pepper, chopped

Brown sausage in skillet, pour off fat.  In large kettle, combine first nine ingredients and simmer,covered for 2 hours.  Add potatoes,kidney beans,and green pepper and cook 15-20 min. longer. Remove bay leaf. Freezes well. Serves 10
